Now entering its ninth year, the AimLoan.com San Diego Blues Festival is living up to its mission to provide great blues at an affordable price, and raise money to support the battle against hunger in our community.

Now entering its ninth year, the AimLoan.com San Diego Blues Festival is living up to its mission to provide great blues at an affordable price, and raise money to support the battle against hunger in our community.

With names such as Mavis Staples, Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, Billy Gibbons, Los Lobos, Eric Burdon & the Animals, Elvin Bishop and Booker T. Jones, no fewer than 10 members of the Blues Hall of Fame and five members of the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame have performed on our stage.

That’s generated more than $950,000 in profit for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. In addition, an annual food drive at the festival has received 14 tons of donations.

All of this on a general admission ticket priced 50 percent below comparable festivals.

Much of that is due the generous sponsorship of companies such as AimLoan.com – our title sponsor since the festival began in 2011 – and Business Complete Solutions and Baker Electric Home Energy, as well as many others.

Whether you bring a beach chair or blanket, or choose VIP or Super VIP seating and benefits, we are determined to give you a great day of music and fun in a wonderful waterfront setting.

We can’t do that alone. We need performers and sponsors and ticket buyers and vendors. Most of all, we need volunteers.

Each year the San Diego Food Bank uses 24,000 volunteers to help it operate.  They are part of the chain that supplies food to 400,000 people in need every month in San Diego County. That chain also includes 400 nonprofit partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, low-income daycare centers, senior centers, churches, schools and day centers for the elderly and disabled that work one on one with those in need.

In 2016-17, the San Diego Food Bank distributed more than 26 million pounds of food to individuals and families in our community.
